Happily Baby After.

Like any good movie, you want to know how it ends right? After the credits roll, you want to know more. What happens after they ride away in the sunset? We are very happy to report
life is good. Wonderful in fact. So great that we look at each other and say, we have only known this child for 13 days? What did we do before him? That seems another life ago.

We have both taken some time away from work to bond with Hunter and help all of us, including the dogs, adjust to our new little addition. We have started working on the new nursery, organizing the household, registering for baby stuff and looking into day care options. It's funny. Most of these things are done before you have the baby.

Speaking of doing things in reverse - my friends are planning a baby shower for me. I am so excited! After years of going to them, I can finally have my own. The best part is, I can bring Hunter! How many baby showers have you been to where the guest of honor has actually arrived in time to be at the shower?

And baby boy? Hunter is doing terrific. He just had his first pediatrician appointment and the doc gave the thumbs up that he is a healthy and thriving boy. He is eating well, gets hiccups often and tends to fight Mommy and Daddy when it's time for diaper change. He has his days and nights mixed up so not much sleep happening in the Lutes household. We've already forgiven him for that.

We haven't had much time to focus on anything but the here and now. We enjoy as much time as possible with Hunter and look forward to sharing this blog with him one day. We had intended it to be so he could see how very much we looked forward to meeting him. However, we never thought it would have happened so fast. Our mantra through this whole process is that we believe in fate. And somehow the baby that is meant to be with us would find us. And he did.

Sidenote: I so enjoyed writing this blog and hoped you enjoyed following it. It really gave me something to look forward to when we weren't sure how or if this process would work for us. I will be starting a somewhat different blog that will focus on Hunter, his progress, share pictures and videos via a personal baby page. If you are interested, let me know and I will continue to add you to blog postings.
